Monday
I started the week by waking up at like 6am to get ready to go to the blue mountains! Jessica and I decided to do a bush walking track since neither of us had done it before and we thought it'd be pretty fun too. Little did we know we would be walking around through the bushes for a few hours with no water and no food omg.... Anyway when we got there we bought more warm clothes and some breakfast mmm
at big w buying socks LOL
breakfast!
this was supposed to be like "why are the blue mountains so blue????" then "oh that's why" idk AHAHAH at the time we thought we were being really funny but now looking back we probably embarrassed ourselves so much omg
We started our walk by going down these stairs and we were like all good no worries this is easy HAHA
More tourist shots next to the three sisters.. Once we got to this point people started disappearing and everyone turned back LOL before we knew it we were by ourselves walking through this for hours:
Everything looked the same! We felt like we were going around in circles and we were dehydrated as fuck as well omg I was scared Jessica was going to faint.... I think we went without water for 2 - 3 hours before someone kindly gave us a bottle of unopened water right near the end ^-^ from that point onward we were more relaxed and more people started appearing yay
fake scenic railway train LOL
We started off with this oMGOJSG IT COST $50 FOR SUCH LITTLE SUSHI WHAT THe hell I'm so used to sushi hotaru where everything is only $3 LOL
Next was this popcorn shrimp which was pretty tasty!! the only problem was that I ate it too slowly and the shrimp started getting soaked in the sauce and they all went soggy..
Teriyaki beef with some green things and little balls and mushrooms I forgot what everything in it was LOL this was nice as well just took forever to come out
MY #1 FAVOURITE MEAL I HAD THERE HAHA IT'S A GIANT GREEN TEA KIT KAT AHFlkdsjlfkjsksdjflskdj 10/10 must try oh my god
Dessert bento box - this sounded interesting but it wasn't that great..... we were pretty let down by it tbh :(
Tuesday
On sunday Patrick and I wanted to eat at sokyo because it was our 21 months (yay) and we hadn't been to sokyo in aaaaages. WE WERE SO LET DOWN THOUGH BECAUSE WHEN WE GOT THERE THEY WERE CLOSED :((((((((((( It's okay though because we saved it for today instead! Everything we ordered was pretty much the usual except we tried tempura morton bay bug for the first time!! Neither of us had eaten tempura from sokyo or moreton bay bug before so it was pretty exciting ^-^ not really exciting but it was different! ok tbh we got convinced into ordering from the tempura section because the waitress was like omg I usually hate tempura but sokyo blahlablhlbalhah
Beef tataki delicious as usual :)
Moreton bay bug tempura!!! The tempura was really light and delicious and the sauces matched really well 10/10 would recommend! We were both not that keen on trying it though because moreton bay bugs look like this HAHA
Pork belly robata mmmmmmm yum
Caramalised miso cod MMmmMMMMmmmmMMmmmmmm
Spicy tuna crispy rice to finish off our main meals - so expensive for sushi but very tasty mmm
First dessert was tofu cheesecake with strawberry consome and strawberries and thyme sugar. Such a nice refreshing dessert, I don't feel too full after eating it like I do with normal cheesecakes
Wednesday
Today I woke up at 5am to catch a plane to Melbourne! I was pretty keen on going again even though I always go to melbourne lol. Our flight was at 7 in the morning so we planned to arrive there really early, but we ended up being stuck in the sky for sooooo long since something happened at melbourne airport that caused delays even in the sky... When we finally got there we headed straight to our hotel and got ready to spend the day shopping!
Our hotel is called Hotel Windsor and is located right opposite parliament house and a few minutes walk from Bourke street mall. I was instantly impressed with the hotel as soon as we arrived because the guy at the front was wearing a top hat heheheh
Once we got ready we were starving so we just went to one of the first restaurants we saw.. We got pretty lucky choosing a restaurant because the one we ended up in was really good! I think it was called fomo thai restaurant or something similar
Thai beef salad and pad thai yummmmm
I was so set on wearing this to black party but ended up changing my mind last minute because Mai had the same dress haha
outfit to go out and eat dinner?? I looked like one of the hotel staff LOL
Holy moly we looked up good japanese restaurants in Melbourne and ended up in this super cheap and delicious restaurant close to our hotel. I think it was called Don don restaurant omg THE FOOD CAME OUT AFTER NO JOKE 20 SECONDS HAHA this is the true definition of fast food
This guy was hitting on mai heheheheeheheh omg and he told me I looked too intimidating and busy :(
ootn again before going out to Crown! I'm wearing the same thing LOL only mai changed
selfie while waiting for the tram ^-^ I can't smile
woooooo huge drinks from the velvet bar
4 of them...
Bet so much on black and won HAHA
I thought we were going to have a shit night at the casino since last time with Jess was so eventful but it turned out pretty good!
The next day we went to DFO and harbour town holy shit DFO is ok but harbour town was more like ghost town. There were barely any people there and a lot of the shops shut down! Almost every time I go to Melbourne I visit harbour town and each time it has been a disappointment..
Look at how many stores had to be blacked out :(
Almost no people there..
We didn't do much this day because we were pretty drained from all the shopping/casino yesterday so after going to harbour town we just went back to the hotel and watched masterchef for most of the night. For dinner we had KFC and ramen from an asian grocery store haha STILL GOOD. While watching tv I got an email from jetstar saying our flight was cancelled so instead of leaving the next afternoon our flight was at night. It was kind of inconvenient because we had to start getting ready on the plane but whatever at least we got a few more hours in Melbourne!
On the final day we had high tea at our hotel ^-^
They gave us this guide to afternoon tea haha it was pretty interesting, I'll post the individual pages below
Our afternoon tea! It was very nice but was it worth $69 each? Not really.. It was a good experience though and apparently one of the best high teas in Melbourne :)
Edit: I completely forgot to post this picture of my name on Melbourne's graffiti street!!!!!!! Mai and I were walking past the street while a graffiti artist was spraying something so I asked him to write my name heheheh if anyone's in Melbourne let me know if it's still there!
After our tea we went shopping once more then headed to the airport. Trust there to be power outages in Sydney airport earlier that day, our already delayed plane was even more delayed because of that.. I was so worried we weren't going to make it in time for black party and our tickets would go to waste!! Thankfully we weren't delayed for thattttt long, we ended up arriving at Sydney airport a little after 8 which left us just enough time to get ready at a hotel my friend booked!
Just realised we took photos at every single mirror at the hotel......
Maryclare from twitter!!!!!!! It was good finally meeting some of my twitter/tumblr friends whom (wait is it whom or who HAHA I always get confused between the two) I've known for agessss
also got to meet Mary too!!!
horrible photo but bumped into so many girls from school there haha I reckon my whole grade probably went
anton, cass, dewan and me
I had such a good time at black party! I hope I can catch up with some of the people soon haha I didn't think I'd enjoy bumping into so many people but I did it was nice :)
FInanannanannallly I'm up to today omg that took forever I think I've been blogging for over an hour now.. Today Patrick and I went to Earth to Table in Bondi to try vegan food (I think it was raw, sugar free, gluten free, dairy free etc so many things I love were missing from these foods) for the first time LOL.... A lot of people on instagram have been posting pictures of this place so we thought we'd try it even though both of us love our flavoursome animal product food..
I ordered the alfredo "pasta" and Patrick ordered the "shepards pie" and tbh it wasn't bad! I didn't finish mine and afterwards I was still hungry but I thought it was going to taste worse than it did tbh
Dessert was better, I reckon a dessert is easier to make vegan than a main meal is.. The top one is a chocolate fudge "brownie" and the bottom one is a "white chocolate" and raspberry mousse cake. I'm putting """" on everything because they weren't actually what they were called if that makes sense like the brownie wasn't a normal brownie at all but more like a chocolate muesli bar? I really liked the "ice cream", for something with no dairy or sugar in it it tasted pretty delicious!
Surprisingly I was still not full after these desserts so Patrick and I just went and got KFC afterwards HAHAHA sorry Earth to Table :(
Mmmmmmm probably 100x more calories than our vegan meal but so delicious.. If you are vegan or love vegan food pls don't be offended by this I mean my lunch at Earth to Table was nice too just didn't feel like it was enough for me :( I guess it takes some getting used to if you want to become vegan..
Okay I think I'm done that concludes my very long post on this week! I hope it was interesting haha and congratulations if you made it this far.. Hope everyone is enjoying their holidays and I'll write again soon xoxoxo
