merry christmas!

With my cousin and older sister at our family Christmas lunch LOL we all pretty much look the same age...

Christmas coloured roses from the bf, thank you!

SoooOoOoOo much food hehe omg I need to diet for Japan ahh

How awesome is this house! If you guys wanna see it it's still open until 5th January at Cambage court, Davidson. Bring a donation for their brain cancer campaign too so then you can go into their backyard! We didn't have any money on us so we didn't feel right if we went inside :(

Anyways hope everyone is having a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!! Stay safe and drive carefully LOL we got pulled over today for not indicating......

Friday

Friday was a very eventful day! In the morning I went to uni for a work meeting and it was pretty awesome because they supplied us with lunch and chocolate covered strawberries eheheh. I had five hours to kill afterwards so I went to the staff christmas party in the new building omg I was literally the only student there but it was ok because at least I wasn't by myself.. There was sooooo much delicious food, even a giant cake that looked exactly like the new building we were in lol ????¿¿¿¿ not even kidding

This was taken after the waiters went around and gave everybody some cake.... Literally not even 1/10th into cutting the cake and everyone's already had a piece haha. The most embarrassing thing happened before they cut it though omg this fucking cake was in the middle of the room and it looked so realistic that I thought it was a model of the building.... I poked it and realised shortly after it was the fucking cake aghhgh hopefully nobody saw me fml

Looking gr9 for the photobooth LOL

These photos are so funny hahahaha the left one is with my tutor/boss and the right one is with some of the accounting staff

Five hours later and it was finallllly time to go and eat dinner then meet up with everyone for karaoke! We tried this heart attack of a dessert after dinner HAHA it was pretty good, worth it if you don't mind the calories

Whipped cream, buttered peanuts, krispy kreme donut, cookies and cream ice cream, and oreos omg

With Gina at karaoke :-)

ume + sokyo (again sorry omg)

I know this is another food post hahaha sorry I'll post more interesting things once something interesting actually happens! I've been the biggest hermit so far these holidays like last night I played the sims until around 2 in the morning when I asked myself what am I even doing with my life lol... Today I went out and tried some baby food, that was pretty interesting.. oh and I bought a car too!

Anyway alright back to business last weekend I ate at a Japanese restaurant in Surry Hills called ume. We saw it on instagram and it looked pretty good so we had pretty high expectations of this place! Apparently since it was the weekend, we were only allowed to have either a 5 or 7 course set menu. The 7 course sounded nicer to me, the 5 course one had too much wasabi on the menu and I really don't like the taste of wasabi.. I can't remember the exact price but I think it was around $80 per person?

Ok first course - kingfish sashimi! Everyone's taste buds are different so some of you guys might have really enjoyed this, but me not so much.. The table next to us said this was really good and they loved the flavours so you know each to their own..

Scallops with butter and other stuff LOL this was the dish we saw on instagram! It looked so yum and I love scallops mmmm. It wasn't as great as I expected it to be but it was still pretty nice

Next was octopus with cucumbers and some other vegetables - this was pretty good, first time I've properly eaten octopus haha takoyaki doesn't count

4th course was smoked eggplant. This was sooooooo smoky you can still taste it even after you're done! It was kind of like smoking a cigarette but nicer and not bad for you

Omg things picked up from this course onwards. This wagyu beef thing was so fucking good. I can't remember exactly what it was but we ate it with rice and it was d bomb

Dessert time!!!!! I loved this dessert and how much effort went into it - they even had a dehydrated strawberry leaf on it like wtf so retarded but pretty cool! It was Poached Strawberries with Caramelised White Chocolate, Shiso Custard, Gingerbread, Matcha (copied and pasted this from their website I can't remember things for shit)

Last but not least, mango sorbet with some mochi and rice cakes (couldn't copy and paste unfortunately HAHA) this was also pretty nice but the picture doesn't really do it justice. Everything we had was nicely presented but the photos I took were just bad oops..

Now for sokyo eheheh you guys are probably so sick of me posting photos from sokyo but this time we tried new things so I wanted to blog about it again!

Kingfish sashimi again - this one was much more friendly to my taste buds compared to the one from ume. I really liked the textures in this dish - the yellow things on top were little pieces of fried potato which was pretty cool

This duck dish was delicious too (even though it looks like a murder scene). Everything else we ordered was the same as before so I won't post about it again.... That's all for what I've been eating recently.. hope everyone is well and I'll blog again soon :)

catching up with good food :)

On Wednesday I met up with one of my high school friends to eat lunch. If you follow me on twitter, I tweeted about how sad I was that I have no friends who love food but yay Helen does!!!! We decided to check out the grounds of Alexandria since there's always so much hype about it and neither of us had been there before. My first thought was that it would be a small hipster cafe like the ones in Newtown HAHA but it wasn't like that at all omg when we were trying to find it we thought we were in the wrong place because the whole area was so industrial.. The actual grounds place was huge and they even had a farm??!?!  We were told there was a 45 minute wait so we went and explored the place and take selfies heh. Good place to take photos, it was all nice and floral and decorated and rustic (did I use that word right lolol)

Took these on an app hahaha we look so flawless and our hair looks so smooth omg I wish

I got a rose lemonade while we were waiting since I was so hungry. Really floral tasting but it was quite nice!

After 45 minutes (or maybe even less, it didn't feel that long) we got a table and ordered our food. I got the 'breakfast burger' and Helen got beef ribs. Both were pretty good! I would definitely recommend this place if it's a nice and sunny day and you don't mind waiting.

We were both so full from lunch but there is always room left for dessert! Messina opened up this new dessert bar in Darlinghurst so we headed up there only to find out the dessert bar wasn't open until 5pm :((((( so we got a whole tub of icecream instead HAHA.

Left to right - honey I burnt the kids (fucking so embarrassing to say out loud), bounty, and pandan coconut mmmm

Overall a pretty good day with lots of delicious food. Hopefully I'll be able to try out more restaurants these holidays ^-^

shopping! + holidays are soon

I finally got a chance to visit the new h&m store in Sydney and like everyone else has been saying, it's kind of overrated.. The store itself is pretty small compared to Melbourne and overseas and it was so packed (even though the hype has died down) I couldn't be bothered shopping properly haha. Nevertheless this is what I managed to pick up while I was there!

I thought these shoes were really nice idk I don't have any shoes like this and they caught my eye. Only $14.95 too!

This dress was only $29.95! Not sure about the sizing though, it's an AUS 4 but I pretty sure I'm not that little so maybe the Australian sizing in h&m is a little off LOL

Omg bought these daily underwear because they were at the counter and at the time I was like hey this is such a good idea haha. The whole pack was $20 so only like $3 each

I also went online shopping recently on this website I saw on facebook called tobi. They have this 'first purchase half price' thing but it's bullshit because they make the original prices so unreasonably high so after the discount it's like normal price??

First time buying something mint coloured, and also first time buying a playsuit! It's pretty comfortable and convenient because I don't have to worry about the wind or accidentally flashing everyone

Also bought these shorts from the website - haven't found a top to wear them with yet (hence my diy pink top)

Just realised nearly everything I bought is floral hahaha what can I say, flowers are really pretty especially in warmer weather! Anyways exams are almost over so I'll be able to post a lot more once I'm finally finished for the year. These holidays are going to be soooo full on:
  • I'll be working three jobs so hopefully I'll have heaps of money to spend on a holiday
  • Speaking of holiday, I might be going to Hawaii in February wooooo!!! I'm so excited *u*
  • We're considering jetstar to save money - has anyone flown overseas with jetstar? Is it uncomfortable (we'll be on a 787 dreamliner not an a320 like domestic flights so it shouldn't be that bad right)? If you have any advice please inbox me on ask.fm!
  • I'm also supposed to be going to Melbourne but no one's really saying anything so I don't know if it's still on anymore lol shit like this always happens!
  • I have lots of work to do anyway so it's not really a big deal if Melbourne doesn't happen anyway
  • Wooooo I'm so ready for these holidays, seriously need of a long break away from uni and stress..

I love food

This year I went to the night noodle market six times....... To be fair two of those times didn't count because the lines were too long and we didn't get to eat anything LOL. The other four weren't enough omg I wish it was open for a bit longer, there were so many things I didn't get to try!

Wonderbao - I forgot what each of them had inside but this was really goood

Ramen burger heheheh I also got to try the rice burger this time too, both were pretty good

Baostop - lobster, pork, and chicken baos mmm

Messina - bangkok holla! this was so yummy if only the actual Messina stores sold desserts like this

Chips on a stick!

Hoy Pinoy omg such a long line for this but it was worth it

I don't think that's even all the photos ..............

Anyway hehhehheh more food, last week I went to cho cho san with Patrick because we kept seeing it on instagram and the food looked so gooood. It didn't disappoint! The food was nice, the atmosphere was pretty cool and our waiter was so funny LOL

Ok my photos are horrible because it was dark inside but you get the idea

Hokkaido scallops with corn and some black sauce and flakes idk what half the things on the plate were but they tasted nice

Tofu with tomato dashi soup and tempura things on top - Patrick didn't like this that much because it was too simple but I did!

THIS LOOKS LIKE POO HAHAHAHA BUT IT WAS REALLY GOOD!!!!! It's king crab omelette curry omg

Soy glazed wagyu beef mmmm

These little buns were $8 each...... but they were pretty nice so it was worth

Green tea soft serve to finish off - kind of tasted like a slightly sweeter version of chanoma's green tea ice cream LOL

two years + birthday celebrations!

I know some of you on ask.fm have been waiting forever for me to post this (I'm so sorry omg pls forgive) so without any more delay, this is what I did for my two year anniversary + 19th birthday!
The 22nd of September was my anniversary with my bf and to celebrate we went to climb the Sydney harbour bridge!! I thought it'd be a awesome thing to surprise him with since it was something neither of us had ever done before and I thought it'd be a cool gift

When we got there they made us change into these blue and grey onesies

Such fashionable much trendy HAHAHA

This was taken when we were at the very top of the bridge!!! It was kind of scary but cool at the same time because we could see all the cars driving underneath us!! Anyway the whole experience cost around $600 for two people and took approx. 3 hours. It's kind of expensive but worth it in my opinion because I really enjoyed it

We had a few hours to kill so I think we just went to my uni and studied because I had a marketing exam the next day............ After hours and hours of solid study (jokes I had a nap while Patrick watched Man vs Wild) 8:30 finally came and we headed over to Rockpool bar and grill for dinner. I love Rockpool man Sokyo and Rockpool are my favourite places in Sydney to eat kdlfjskjdf I wish I could eat their food everyday omg

Ok to start, we tried this Alaskan king crab (????) dish and it was so nice and light, yet full of flavour and texture 10/10 would order again

The one in the middle is this pork belly and squid thing but wasn't that interesting because we've gotten it a few times before LOL

This one isn't that interesting either because I always get it heheheh still my favourite main

Patrick's main - he got some beef and mushroom and celeriac puree thing with onions (omg I'm just listing everything in the photo because I forgot what it was). It was pretty good, normally I don't like things that taste like celery but I really liked that puree

Dessert! Ok other people say this is really good but I personally didn't enjoy it that much.. It's an open ice cream sandwich with different flavoured icecreams and a brownie thing on the bottom idk the ice creams had a strong alcohol flavour maybe that's why I didn't like it??

After dinner Patrick just drove me back to my house because I had exams the next morning and needed to sleep..

When I got home I saw these roses waiting for me on the table hehe how cute thank youuuu!

Fast forward one week - my exams are finished and I'm on mid semester break woooooo thank goodness my birthday was during the holidays or Patrick's plan wouldn't have worked at all.. On the day before my birthday, he picked me up and we started driving to some mystery place up north??? For once I had no idea what we were doing?! Like every other time he plans something he ends up giving it away but this time I actually had no clue until I saw a sign a couple hours later saying 'Hunter Valley' LOL. Once we got there, we checked into our hotel then went out to have lunch and explore the place

EVERYTHING IS SO NICE AND GREEN OMG

Lunch!! Mine looks so healthy compared to Patrick's LOL I got a salad and he got a meat pie

No filter needed *u*

The sun started setting so we headed back to the hotel and watched tv for a while before going out to eat. Patrick told me the place we were eating was rated the best restaurant in the Hunter Valley so I was pretty excited for our dinner hehe. The restaurant we ate at was called Botanica and it was about 15 minutes away from our hotel. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but there aren't any street lights in the whole area so getting there and back was pretty scary HAHA

Since we didn't go around any of the vineyards earlier, we decided to order some in the restaurant omg yuckcjkjuck I really don't like the taste of wine!!!!! We thought that maybe our taste buds had changed since the last time we had wine but nope LOL

Cute little pre meal snack thing idk what it's called

Zucchini flowers with ricotta and corn and some leaves and some fancy bacon (that's the best I could do), I really liked this dish!

Patrick's entree, I forgot what it was but it was a pork dish and had a lot of asian flavours in it

Steak with gnocchi and tomatoes and peas and butter and leaves mmmmm

Patrick's one kind of makes me think of a deconstructed meat pie??? It was pretty good as well

My dessert was basically a giant macaron with ice cream in the middle LOL

and Patrick's dessert was a lemon tart with some snacks and shit on the side

Overall it was a pretty good dinner, I'd give it hmmmm 8/10 :-)

THE NEXT DAY IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY AND WE WOKE UP AT 4:30AM TO GO ON A HOT AIR BALLOOOOON!!!!!!!! This was the part of our trip I was looking forward to the most and it did not disappoint me one bit heheh

It was so early we got to watch the sunrise while the balloon was being set up *u*

hehe

LOOK HOW BIG IT IS HOLy shit

About to leave!!! It looks like a nice warm morning but no omfg I was freezing and I didn't bring a jumper with me so Patrick lent me his and he ended up borrowing the one he's wearing from someone else. He looks so funny with it on HAHA makes him look like a dad

Finally in the air!! The views from the balloon were so pretty

We ended up going so high I felt like we were in an airplane

After flying around for about an hour, we landed in someone's fucking frontyard HAHAHAHA IMAGINE SEEING THAT OMG YOU WALK OUT OF YOUR HOUSE AND THERE'S A FUCKING GIANT BALLOON IN YOUR FRONTYARD HAHAHA anyway that was fun, you should all try it if you get the chance ^-^

We went back to the hotel straight after we finished our balloon ride because it was too early and we needed some more sleep... then when we woke up again we headed back out to the Hunter Valley gardens!!! Look how beautiful and vibrant it was wow!!

Jokes loool this is what we saw:

I think they were preparing for the summer holidays or something because a lot of the flowers were gone?? Nevertheless it was still a beautiful place even without the flowers ..

At around 3 in the afternoon we had to leave the Hunter Valley because I had a family dinner to go to. Even though the trip was only 2 days, I had a really good time! Patrick did well surprising me too man I was so unprepared and not dressed for the activities we did.. I'm really grateful though, it was so sweet of him to do all this for me. Anyways I'll definitely be going back one day heheh there's so much more I want to do like visit the vineyards and ride in a helicopter *u*

When I got back home I saw this on the table waiting for me and I was excited but confused at first because I thought they were from Patrick LOL but it was actually from Jessica (if you're reading this then thank you again!!!!!)

OK THIS POST IS GETTING SO LONG AND I'M NOT EVEN UP TO SATURDAY LOL CEEbs the rest of my birthday was just spent eating and celebrating with my family at a restaurant in Cabramatta

We look the same age LOL

20 portions heheheikjflsdkjglsijgfl I ended up eating like 6 all together (not at once though omg)

Edit - I'm at uni right now and I just finished my work for today so I thought I'll quickly finish this post before it's too late and nobody cares anymore...... Ok on Saturday I had a birthday dinner + karaoke + clubbing with some of my close friends. It was a pretty good night, I'm glad most people could make it heheeh

First off we had dinner at Criniti's Woolloomooloo - usually Criniti's is pretty good but this time everything was so slow and we ended up being there for like 2 hours because the food took so long.. The food was nice though!

Ordered some massive drink for the lols

We headed to Dynasty karaoke after dinner and yeah that was pretty good! I was trying to make everyone drink so it wouldn't be as awkward there LOL sober karaoke is always so quiet and nobody wants to choose songs or sing

Can you guys see Angelo on the very left HAHAHAHA

Dynasty have mirrors in the actual toilet cubicle omg everywhere should do this

Omg I went to the bathroom for a while and when I came back everyone except Patrick was gone and I was all like omg :(((( Patrick was making me believe everyone wanted to leave but then suddenly they all came back with this cake and sang happy birthday HAHAHA it was really sweet of them I had to hold back d tears

Finally I'm up to clubbing wooo

We went to Embassy night club at Hilton hotel and at first I didn't really want to go because apparently it's rnb all night but it actually turned out quite good! I think we danced for like 3-4 hours before going home heheh

Almost everyone!

I bumped into one of my tutors at uni omg LOL he bought me a birthday drink which was cool

Accidentally stepped into a hole in the ground and destroyed the back of my new Louboutins :'(((( THEY DIDN'T EVEN LAST ONE DAY WITHOUT BEING RUINED LOL

That's all for this post, hopefully it wasn't too long and boring! Anyways I hope everyone had a good mid semester break/school holidays and if you're doing the HSC right now I wish you the best of luck!!!!! xoxoxoxo
