celebration week!

This semester is finally over and to celebrate I basically spent the entire week eating heheh (what's new). Literally as soon as my last exam ended I went straight to Devon cafe for dessert, sooo worth enduring 3 hours of stomach rumbling in the exam room for!!

That same day I also went to eat Korean barbecue in Strathfield which was really good as well! We didn't end up actually getting any barbecue though because none of us could be bothered cooking the meat .....

We didn't stop there though omg afterwards we drove all the way to Bay Vista for this dessert HAHA obese life

A few days later I  met up with Gina and went to have lunch at Kin by us - Really cute cafe and the food was so well presented and delicious! I got the 'black lotus' which I think was black sticky rice, coconut milk, fig, and other shit sprinkled on top (10/10 description)

Afterwards we went to Vogue cafe at Macquarie centre and got their nutella and peanut butter milkshakes.. Don't recommend these at all, they were soooo sweet and literally just tasted like liquid diabetes. If that's your thing though by all means go for it!

FOR DINNER WE HAD SOKYO YAASSSSSSSSS LONG TIME NO SOKYO 11/10 food as usual

To top it all off we decided to stop by Knafeh Bakery on the way home for more dessert. I don't know how to describe what the knafeh tasted like, it was kind of like a cheesy creme brulee?

This is what they wrote on our order HAHA we were pretty much the only asians there ..

On Friday oh my goodness worst night. We met up with some other friends to have ice cream then go to OPM. Okay not only is OPM a shit club with a shit crowd, but our 'friends' who we paid their entry for ended up ditching us?! Like I didn't mind paying for their entry because they've paid for us before, but who the fuck does that. It's really fucking rude imo, if someone paid for me I would feel horrible saying the shit they said, like 'ceebs OPM we're gonna go somewhere else now' or 'we're gonna find our other friends' ugh please!! We didn't even want to go out on Friday night, but we went because we went anyway because they weren't bothered to go to the city on Saturday instead. UGHHHHH PLSSSS they made us feel so unwanted "close friends" my ass! There were more hurtful things they did that ruined my night but I don't really want to blog about it incase they read this.. Anyway whatever at least we got a good photo

study tips

I don't think I'm the best person to ask considering I'm not even certain I passed all my subjects this semester. Even though I did achieve pretty good results for a few of my assignments/exams, I did everything last minute and often became overwhelmed and stressed out because of the amount I had to learn in such a short time. I am a fast learner and I'm very thankful for that but I think I could do so much better in the future if I allocated my time more efficiently and followed these tips!

  • First tip - go to class!! Okay this one is a given but I do need to mention it because some people at my uni don't understand that there is a correlation between going to class and doing well
  • Not only just go to class, but turn up prepared! I don't really follow this tip but I think it would be super beneficial to my studies if I did. Like this one week at uni I went to two of the same tutorial, and in the second one I really focused in class because I kind of knew what was going on and I could contribute more?? I'm not saying go to multiple tutorials because that would be a waste of time (unless that works for you then by all means go for it), but if you attempt the tutorial questions before class or look at lecture slides before the lecture you can get so much more out of it. I did it for Accounting A and I ended up being only one mark off getting a perfect score on my transcript nooooo
  • Ask questions if you need to! Don't be scared to ask your tutors or lecturers if you're having trouble. They're there to help you and they get paid to do it so may as well ask instead of forever not properly understanding what you're doing
  • As for studying, my first tip would be to figure out how you learn, know your strengths and weaknesses, and try to work around that. Everybody studies differently so what works for me might not work for you. Personally I'm a fast learner (thank goodness or I wouldn't have been able to handle 28cp in one semester) and I think I learn best by doing. Just listening to lectures and reading through textbooks doesn't really help me I just get really bored and zone out after a while. I could do all the reading in the world on how to construct a cash flow statement, but if I don't go through some examples myself I probably won't be able to do it in an exam (yes this happened in my final exam, I lost 20% just like that).
  • Find a time and place place where you're able to study most efficiently. Some people can't study at home, and others can't study unless they're at home. There are actual tips somewhere online on where to study but personally for me as long as I'm away from too much noise and a messy environment I'm good. Also I can't study well with other people I need to be alone HAHA every single time I try to study with someone else I get less than half the work done than if I was by myself
  • You need to have a clear mind + motivation when you study or else you're going to get really distracted and not learn much. If you're really stressed out or just not feeling up to it, take a break, have some food, have a shower, take a walk, go to the gym, whatever works for you. Some people think this is a waste of time but I don't see much point in studying when I'm not mentally in the right state.
  • Plan out what you're going to do in one day, and be realistic. Before my exams I listed out my topics and set goals for each day. It makes it much easier when you know what your goals are, and gives you some feeling of accomplishment when you achieve them. Even if you don't have exams coming up, plan a time to do your homework/revise what you learnt in that day.
  • Try to study as often as you can. If you have time to study everyday then do it! The more time you spend learning something earlier on, the easier it'll be for you later on when you have exams
  • Last tip but most importantly, don't procrastinate!!!!!!!!!!!! One of my friends left his 30000 word capstone until the last few days before it was due and he had I think a year to do it? Such a bad idea... You don't even have to start your assignments that early, like the least you can do is just have a look at it so you know what to expect when you do start it
It's 2am and I'm getting really sleepy so I think that's it for now. This is all so much easier said than done but if you consciously try to take steps towards studying more and getting shit done earlier then you'll definitely do well in uni. I really hope this helped, like I said I'm not the best person to ask so I don't even know if anything I've said is useful. It's all just based on my experiences at uni and what I think is helpful! Good luck with studying :)

feeling on top of the world

Hello!

It's been a very very very very long time I know, but I'm feeling really good today and I just wanted to share a few things with you guys (if there is anybody left)!

Okay first off - I got a job! Well I don't have the job yet because I need to do my training first, but I'm 99% sure I will have secured my employment as a flight attendant once I complete training. The whole process has been so exciting and scary at the same time,  and once everything's complete I'll probably make a more detailed blog post about it. I feel so much closer to my dream now and it's making me so happy you don't even know, ahhh can't wait to start training eheheh

Next - I've finished uni the semester!!! I had a pretty tough time with some of my subjects and I'm not sure if I did enough to pass, but it's all over now so I can finally relax. One thing that really made me feel super proud of myself was that I got an email from my lecturer congratulating me on my assignment mark because I was one of 13 people in the whole course who got an HD?! Such a satisfying feeling knowing that after how low I was feeling during mid sems I managed to pull myself together for the assignment.

Finally - I've really picked myself back up since my last post - cut the toxic people out from my life, learnt a few lessons, become closer to awesome people, and I think I've become more mature too haha.. I'm going to start blogging again so if there's anything you guys want me to blog about, anything you want to know, food recommendations heh, or if you just want to talk then hit me up on ask.fm!

Hope everyone is well and I'll write again soon :-)

sorry

Hi everyone,

I just realised it's been a month and a half since I've posted anything so I wanted to make this post to update you guys and kind of apologise to anybody who still regularly checks up on my blog (thank you to those who do, I appreciate it!). As some of you already know I haven't been feeling the greatest lately and that's mostly why I haven't kept my blog updated. The weeks I've been back in Sydney haven't exactly gone as I'd hoped and I think it's getting the best of me. Also uni has been especially draining this semester, I know I'm only three weeks in but it's already becoming too overwhelming.. I'm finding both my accounting subjects quite difficult, and I think for the most part it's because I'm totally lacking in motivation and interest. My attitude towards accounting (and everything else really) has become so pessimistic and I'm trying regain the positive mindset I had while I was overseas but it's hard! Anyway.. Rest assured that I haven't given up on this blog, I know I still have so much to write about so please bear with me and I will be back to normal soon (hopefully)!

Best night I've had in a while, can't wait to do it again ^-^

what am I doing

It's almost four in the morning and I'm having second thoughts about everything I'm doing especially at uni. I don't even want to become an accountant! I'm looking at my timetable for this year and part of me is excited about learning new languages and meeting new people but the other part of me is dreading doing my accounting major. I like the accounting faculty though I think that's the only sort of good part about it

I really want to learn how to fly!

happy new year!

I ended 2014 on a really bad note when it came to my nails omg no joke the nail artist woman sliced my finger open while filing my nails!!! It didn't really bother me though I mean it was new years eve and I didn't want to end the year by making someone's day really shit because of an accident..

I got scared that it'd get infected because a random woman at the nail salon yelled out at me 'YOU KNOW WHAT BLEEDING CAUSES? HIV YEAH IT CAUSES HIV' omg she was being such a dq but it actually kind of freaked me out so I went and bought bandaids lolol

Anyways it's all good now though because my finger is almost healed (fingers crossed no HIV) and I repainted them a marc jacobs daisy inspired design!

Tbh I'm pretty proud myself HAHA I just wanna go out and show everyone my nails but too bad I have no reason to leave home most days sighhghh. Working from home gets so lonely sometimes zzz

ANYWAY HOPE EVERYONE HAD A GREAT NEW YEARS AND MAY 2015 BRING LOTS OF LOVE AND HAPPINESS AND SUCCESS TO YOU ALLLLLL xx
